During Big Machine Label Group's luncheon at the 2017 Country Radio Seminar, Carly Pearce introduced her debut single, "Every Little Thing," to radio programmers and media members -- and admitted that, when she wrote the song, she never expected anyone else to hear it.

"I wrote this song -- my debut single -- thinking that no one would ever hear it, about a guy who broke my heart a few years ago," Pearce explained during the Friday (Feb. 24) event. "I think that we never really understand that our hearts are ultimately the ones that have to decide when we're ready to let somebody go."

Readers can press play on the video above to watch Pearce's performance of "Every Little Thing" -- which she calls "a personal journey into snapshots of how I had to deal with that [breakup]" -- from the BMLG luncheon. Pearce signed with BMLG in late January.

“I’m so honored and truly blessed to be able to work with Scott Borchetta and the Big Machine Label Group staff,” Pearce said at the time of her signing. “It’s a dream come true to have found a team who not only sees my vision but believes in it too. I couldn’t be more excited and ready to hit the ground running!”

Pearce started performing at Dollywood when she was 16; recently, she’s performed at the Grand Ole Opry and opened for Kelsea Ballerini. If her name sounds familiar, it might be because Pearce sang with Josh Abbott Band — another group she’s opened for — on their song “Wasn’t That Drunk;” The Boot also named her one of 10 new country artists to watch in 2017.

“Carly has been very impressive in constructing her team and preparing for success, and she is a very important member of the new generation of female country artists,” BMLG CEO Scott Borchetta says. “Her craft is her life’s charge, and we’re very proud to add her to the Big Machine family.”
