Alabama’s Basketball Stars 2021 NBA Draft Projections
The Alabama basketball team has been off to a red hot start this season. Thanks to future NBA prospects in John Petty, Herb Jones, and Joshua Primo. Now where do these Alabama stars rank among other draft prospects?
John Petty declared for the 2020 NBA Draft after last season. Petty eventually tested the waters, only to come back to Alabama to finish his senior season. Another year under his belt has served Petty well, as he has only increased his draft stock by being a complete player this season.
Petty is a 6-foot-6 sharp shooter with comparisons to Tony Snell and C.J. Miles. He is currently averaging 14 points and five rebounds a game for the Tide. Last year Petty was projected to be a mid-to-late 2nd round pick. This year he has displayed a complete game on defense and offense.
2021 NBA Draft Projection: Round 1. Pick #32 to the Brooklyn Nets
Next on the list is senior Herbert Jones. Jones has been an excellent defensive player ever since his freshman year at Alabama. This year Jones has finally shown his offensive development, by nearly doubling his previous three-year scoring average.
Jones currently averages 13 points and six rebounds a game. Jones has been compared to the likes of Andre Iguodala by former Alabama coach Avery Johnson. Jones is close to the style of Ben Simmons too, but perhaps with a better jump shot. The point forward can do it all to say the least.
2021 NBA Draft Projection: Round 2 Pick #51 Dallas Mavericks
Joshua Primo is a young star from Canada who re-classified to come to Alabama a season early. He has instantly shown why he was already on most boards for the 2022 and 2021 NBA Draft. If Primo Keeps up his play he will end up in this years draft.
Every game Primo has started, Alabama has won. Primo is averaging 9 points & 3.3 assists a game. The upside is real for Joshua Primo with his 6-foot-6 size and ability to score. Primo is projected to be a mid-1st round pick to a mid-2nd round pick.
