A year after losing 10 players to the NFL Draft, Alabama set a new conference record by having 10 first-team players chosen for the preseason All-SEC teams. 

The Southeastern Conference released the selections on Friday, and the Crimson Tide broke its previous record of nine set in 2011. Minkah Fitzpatrick and Calvin Ridley received the most votes of anyone in the conference and were joined by Jalen Hurts, Jonah Williams, Ross Pierschbacher, Da'Ron Payne, Da'Shawn Hand, Rashaan Evans, Ronnie Harrison, and JK Scott as first team selections.

The second team included Bo Scarbrough, Bradley Bozeman, and Shaun Dion Hamilton, and the third team included Lester Cotton, Anthony Averett, and Tony Brown.

Alabama's total of 16 players is three more than the team had in 2016 when it went 14-1 and claimed its third straight SEC title.
