Most people know that I absolutely love to drive. It doesn’t matter if it’s a thousand miles or three miles. I just enjoy being behind the wheel.

While traveling longer distances, I find myself making “interstate friends.”  These are other motorists who you never actually meet, but you find yourselves traveling in the same distance for an extended period of time.

You pass them and get stuck behind another vehicle. They pass you and get stuck behind another vehicle.  Yet, you keep similar speeds. So, you’re in the same vicinity. You move into the left lane to pass slower moving traffic but slow down to create enough space for your interstate friend to get around the vehicle ahead of you. There’s just so much fun to be had while traveling!

But when it comes to local travel, there are some West Alabama roadways that I enjoy more than others.

Had I considered it as an option while growing up, I probably could have had a career in racing.

On second thought, that may not be a bad hobby to pick up.  I mean, I may not make a good living from it, but maybe my adrenaline should be reserved to contained environments.
