Updated Heisman Odds has Derrick Henry Way Out in Front
Alabama running back Derrick Henry could be just one game away from locking up the school's second Heisman Trophy.
Following his fourth 200-yard performance this season, the junior has increased his lead for the prestigious award. According to Sportsbook, Henry is a 1/5 favorite to bring home the hardware. That means you'd have to wager $500 just to get back $100. Bovada's odds aren't quite as strong, but he still has a big lead there as well.
Henry almost single-handedly put away the Auburn Tigers last weekend. He became a workhorse in the second half and finished with 271 yards on 46 carries. His 25-yard touchdown run with 25 seconds left secured the victory and a birth in the SEC Championship Game.
It appears like Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson might have the best chance to catch Henry. He's second in oddsmakers' minds, and he'll have a chance to lock up an ACC Championship and continue the undefeated season this weekend against North Carolina. If he has a huge game and Henry gets bottled up by Florida's stingy rush defense, the odds could swing.
Regardless, it seems like a forgone conclusion that the Crimson Tide will have a representative in New York City next weekend for the fourth time since 2009.
