Most every person that owns a dog likes to think their dog is a smart pup. My neighbor's dog, a black and white Australian Shepherd with blue eyes named Jill, IS a smart dog. She sits, speaks, shakes, rolls over and will fetch whatever you throw for her. Jill's claim to fame in the neighborhood is her ability to seeming really understand what you are saying.

It's a scenario which has played out in countless homes over the years. The kids want a puppy, but the dad isn't so sure it's a good idea. But when the Cordell girls, Cadence, 12, and Emerson, 9, went to their father Ryan with their canine request, he added a social media clause -- he would get his daughters a dog if they could get one million likes on Facebook.

This is Charles the lion dog. He does look pretty lion-y. It must be even more astounding in person, because one Norfolk, Virginia, resident saw him on the street and called the police, saying there was a lion on the loose and it was potentially looking for food.
