Scotty McCreery Debuts ‘Five More Minutes’ on ‘Fox and Friends’ [Watch]
Dressed in a maroon top and slick black pants, McCreery sang to a packed New York City crowd. Some fans in the audience could be seen singing along to the sweet number as McCreery crooned the lyrics, singing: “Time rolls by the clock don’t stop / I wish I had a few more drops / Of the good stuff, the good times / Oh but they just keep on flying.”
The performance was part of the show’s All American Summer Concert Series.
McCreery released this song to country radio in May of 2017, and it is currently inching its way into the Top 30 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. The American Idol winner wrote “Five More Minutes” after his grandfather Bill McCreery passed away in 2015, recalling his final moments in the third verse of the song. McCreery performed the song numerous times live during stops at the Grand Ole Opry before sending it to radio.
“Anytime you lose somebody, everybody thinks about things you wish you could’ve said to them before they passed or something you wish you could do again. For me, it would’ve been golfing with him,” McCreery tells
It’s safe to say the track will be featured on the singer’s upcoming album — he revealed in late 2016 that he was working on new music. The project will follow his 2013 album See You Tonight, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.
