Can you run 13.1 miles? Would you rather run or walk 1 mile? The Tuscaloosa Half Marathon gives you choices!

I've been so excited that our champion city is holding its first half marathon on March 2nd I can hardly contain myself! The run will raise funds that will go directly toward rebuilding efforts for the playgrounds and school libraries that were affected by the April 27th tornado. I’ve told everyone I know who has ever done a little more than run to the mailbox! Still, I get a lot of looks and responses like, “Are you crazy?” or “I’d love to help but there’s no way I could ever run that far!”

I do realize after running two half marathons myself that 13.1 miles is no easy task. You have to make sure you fuel correctly beforehand, hydrate properly, build up your endurance, find your pace, etc.

Good news my friends, while many seasoned runners and a few ambition first-timers set out on their over 13 mile journey through the most heavily affected areas of the disastrous tornadoes, you can do the same on a smaller scale and take part in The Radiology Clinic Fun Run!

You can participate in the Fun Run however you like. Feel free to walk it, run it, skip it, hop it, crawl it, walk backwards if you want to, just sign up and do it! Bring the kids and other family members as well. It’s a “fun run” so the object is to have fun.

Half marathon runners will start at 8am with participants of Fun Run starting at 9am.

The Radiology Clinic Fun Run will also incorporate a heroes’ theme with a balloon release at the end of the race in honor local community heroes who will be on hand for the day, joining us in this celebration!
