To borrow a quote from rapper DMX, 'Y'all gone make me lose my mind up in here...'

'Y'all' being Verizon because despite numerous phone calls, chat sessions and visits to the store, no one seems to have an answer for why my data usage has suddenly increased each month since December.

The graph above is my actual usage since August and while I've never denied being a data hog, the sudden spike in usage is concerning when my behavior hasn't changed.

I've been gorging at the same level for a while.

I don't mind paying for what I use, but I do want to know WHY I suddenly need so much. Everyone, I've spoken to at Verizon have done nothing but offer suggestions on how to shut my cellular data off, close apps and turn the phone into anything but 'smart'.

Scott Shepherd and I discussed this on Monday's show. I've been flooded with emails and messages from people going through the same issue and looking for an answer.

Unfortunately, you won't find one here. Yet.

I WILL uncover the cause eventually. The idea that Verizon doesn't have a clue what's going on is ABSURD considering my cellphone can track my arrival and departure at various locations.
