The Weeping Mary Baptist Church is stepping up to help those were affected by the devastating tornado that ripped through Fultondale last week. The relief effort is underway by countless organizations from across Alabama however the church is doing its part to help those families who lost housing and practically everything to the tornado.

Last Monday’s tornado left a trail of destruction in the Fultondale community. On Monday, the fire department released an initial assessment of the damage.

“We have 265 residential structures affected,” says Fultondale Fire Chief Justin McKenzie. “Of that 265 we have 65 that were completely destroyed."

Weeping Mary Baptist Church is following the command to love one another and not better way than showing love is by assisting those in need with donations during difficult times.

Donations are needed and you can help. The Tornado Relief Effort is underway at the Weeping Mary Baptist Church located at 2701 20th Street in Tuscaloosa, The church is collecting adult and baby diapers, cleaning supplies, Gatorade, bottled water, and other necessary supplies Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am-1pm. You can drop off your donation and help the families in Fultondale put their lives back together.
