Congratulations to all the graduates across West Alabama. This weekend features multiple spring commencement ceremonies for The University of Alabama. The various graduations will occur at the Coleman Coliseum on the UA campus.

If you are headed to graduation, be sure to take along your patience. The UA News Center said, "6,000 students will be graduating this year, with about “5,400 of those participating in these ceremonies.”

Not only do you have to factor in the graduates, but the family and friends are ready to cheer them on. So, it will be a busy weekend in Tuscaloosa.

UA Graduation Information You Need to Know

According to The University of Alabama Commencement details, “no tickets are required, and there is no limit on the number of guests per graduate. Seating will be open and available for guests to seat themselves.”

Graduation ceremonies should last between 1 and 1.5 hours.

Graduates are advised to arrive 90 minutes ahead of their scheduled graduation time.

Another important note is that graduates and guests must be aware of is that “all bags must adhere to the clear bag policy, said The University of Alabama.

Please note that external food and beverages are not permitted during the festivities. Should you feel hungry or thirsty, a selection of concessions will be available, offering pre-packaged snacks, drinks, and water for your convenience.

Parking

UA recommends that you “look for signage on routes leading into Coleman Coliseum. “There is Free parking for graduates, and guests are available in the Coleman Coliseum parking lot (while space is still available), and the Capstone Parking Deck located just off Bryant Drive across from the Law School.”

In addition, there is an accessible parking area located on the east side of Coleman Coliseum. A drop-off area for arriving graduates and guests is also available at the front steps of Coleman Coliseum. Shuttles from the Capstone Parking Deck to Coleman Coliseum will be available before and after the event.
