Two men have been charged with damaging and urinating on a memorial for veterans according to Florence police.

According to WSFA, Officer Cliff Billingsley said the two men entered the park on October 24 after hours and climbed on top of an F-4 Phantom fighter jet. Surveillance images show the two men attempting to enter the jet before urinating on one of the wings.

Footage appears to show the men jumping from the jet before moving to the rear where a door was later discovered damaged with what appeared to be a trash can. Police stopped the men approximately one mile from the memorial after a complaint was made about a disturbance in the roadway.

24-year-old Bradley Wayne Crosslin of Florence and 18-year-old Zachary Royce of Collinwood, TN were arrested last week and charged with criminal mischief, criminal trespass and desecration of a memorial.

A caretaker for the memorial said most of the damage done to the jet was cosmetic and estimated repairs to cost around $500. He said he hopes the responsible individuals are forced to pay all costs associated with cleaning and repairing the memorial. Additionally, he thinks the men should be banned from the park and should offer a public apology.
