The Tuscaloosa Police issued a warning Monday about a man posing as a television producer to mislead women into sex.

According to the warning, this man says he works on a "Sexual Fear Factor" where women can win prizes for sexual acts. You can read the full warning on Facebook, but here's an excerpt:

The Tuscaloosa Police Department wants to make the public aware of a situation that has been reported. On 2/3/15 a 37 year old female stated that in December of last year she made contact with a white male over the internet. The female stated the male told her that he was working with a “sexual Fear Factor” type show and she could win a house, car, or money if she participated in some deviant sexual acts. The female came to Tuscaloosa and rented a hotel room. She then performed the sexual acts. After the incident she realized that the male was not with any show and had lied to her.

Police say they have been aware of this man for years but cannot arrest him because both parties provide consent.

This is a great reminder to always double and triple check any offers on the internet. If someone can't send you documentation or proof of something, then it's too good to be true. And if there's something you are unsure about, reach out to your local police department and have them verify the person/place for you.
