What's worse than not winning a pair of Iron Bowl tickets you were promised? Showing up to claim them and leaving in handcuffs! The Lee County Sheriff's Department created a fake organization, 'The Charter Club of Lee County' and sent out some 170 letters to folks who owed at least $30,000 in back child support

The letter promised they had won tickets to the Iron Bowl. So the sheriff's office converted an abandoned car dealership into a makeshift collection site for the tickets. The atmosphere was set with officers and employees wearing Alabama and Auburn gear as well as television news cameras ready to video and interview the winners.

Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones said they made 12 arrests. Those arrested owe a total of $270,000 in back child support with one individual owing up to $75,000.
