In the early 1960's, Mother M. Angelica founded Our Lady of Angels Monastery in Irondale, Alabama. These Poor Clare nuns gained popularity by distributing short religious manuscripts and eventually purchased a printing press, enabling them to reach a wider audience.

Throughout the years, people began to reach out to Mother Angelica, requesting that she speak publicly of her beliefs. As technology evolved so did the nun's tactics. Mother Angelica's preachings turned into a video series which then led to the construction of a TV studio in the monastery garage.

What started out as a few pamphlets has now transformed into the Eternal Word Television Network which is available to over 150 million households in more than 140 countries and territories. Although the network broadcasts from a Catholic standpoint, it encourages people of all faiths to join in worship.
