Evidently students at the University of Alabama didn't make these elephants during a snowball fight on the quad yesterday.

Or ever.

Turns out, the sculptures were created in Quebec around 2007.

This experience has shattered the last fragments of my innocence. I can't even trust the individual who tweeted the picture below and claimed elephants offered assistance to stranded Birmingham motorists during yesterday's snow event. I'm jaded now and after today, I'm just not buying it.

I'm not a journalist, so I lack discernment to warn me when a story sounds too good to be true.

I was overcome with several emotions after learning the real details surrounding my snow elephants. I felt sadness because Quebec is really far from Alabama, dismay that everything on Twitter isn't real (that one hurt), and finally, embarrassment that everyone now knows I'm an idiot.

I haven't had a chance to read all of the comments, but there were quite a few, many of which were quite colorful. Most confirmed my suspicions that I'll never pass the Mensa admissions test, but be there one comment or 100,000,000, my response would be the same.

I made a mistake and I'm sorry.

Roll Tide.
