Registration Is Now Open for the Freaky Friday 8K Run

The annual Freaky Friday 8K will again start and end at Dreamland BBQ on Bridge Ave. in Northport, Friday, October 28th!

Well over 200 runners will participate in this yearly event that benefits the Alabama State Trooper’s Association. Racers will travel a few miles worth of road behind Dreamland before going under the bridge and onto the small river road heading toward the water treatment plant. They’ll then turn around and go back the way they came! At total of 5.2 miles worth of cool, darkly lit running. Runners will also need to be on the lookout for what or who may be lurking in the dark corners of the woods and pathways!

The popular costume contest will be back again this year as well with prizes given out and judging will begin at 8:30 pm. Those competing will have time to change back in to their running clothes but are more than welcome to run in costume.

You also don’t want to miss the Freaky Friday after party with beers on hand from all three T-Town breweries: Druid City, Black Warrior and Band of Brothers. Participants over the age of 21 will have drink tickets in their race bag.

Online registration is open now or you can go by and fill out a form at Wagner's RunWalk in MidTown Village. A free t-shirt is included for those who register up to October 14th. Additional t-shirts are available for purchase with registration. Online registration will close at noon on October 27th.
