Tuesday wasn’t just any other day for some of us here at the radio station. Instead of laboring away behind our desks, we went up to The Ridge in Springville, AL.

If you’ve never been up that way before, and I hadn’t, it’s absolutely breathtaking. The stress of the past few weeks left my body the minute I arrived. My ears had popped on the way up and I thought about how mountain people normally say the feel closer to God living up that high. Based on the scenery and quiet, I felt like I was.

First off let me tell about The Ridge. It’s an OHV Park with dirt bike, ATV and side by side trails, Motocross tracks, a mud bog, cabins, fishing, hiking trails and more! They’ve got a 12,000 square foot clubhouse that contains a Pro Shop with bikes and gear for sale/rent, five hotel rooms, a grill/restaurant, and a motorcycle/ATV repair shop.

The Ridge hosts many events throughout the year such as the Panther Run, Motorcross races, etc.. RidgeFest will be held on May 10th & 11th and their 500 acres of land is the perfect setting.

On Tuesday we drove up and were given a guided tour through some of the property. My mind was blown, first at how many trails there were for riding, and secondly at the amount of things to do for anyone not riding. They have close to 40 miles of trails to ride and hike. When we converge on The Ridge in May I’ve already reserved my campsite for the three day venture and plan to bring my hiking and fishing gear.

As we toured, we took pictures...
