The University of Mississippi will no longer have the word 'Christmas' in the name of its annual holiday celebration because the school wants to be "more inclusive."

The co-director of special events for the Student Activities association said that they made the decision to change 'A Grande Ole Christmas' because it was too Christian.

"We really wanted to change the atmosphere from last year and that would explain the name change," Kay P Mayes told NewsWatch Ole Miss. "'Grand Ole Christmas' connoted too much Christianity on campus and so we wanted to have a more inclusive environment for the holidays this year."

Instead, the school will call the celebration 'Hotty Totty Holiday' and continue to include the tree lighting and a visit from Santa.
