A fund set up to help victims of recent terror attacks in the UK received a sizable donation on behalf of the touring cast of the CMT TV drama Nashville recently. Following two sold-out concerts at Manchester, England's O2 Apollo on Saturday (June 17), Opry Entertainment (the producers of the Nashville cast's current tour) donated £10,000 (about $12,700) to the British Red Cross UK Solidarity Fund.

Opry Entertainment made the donation to the UK Solidarity Fund on behalf of Clare Bowen (Scarlett O’Connor), Chris Carmack (Will Lexington), Charles Esten (Deacon Claybourne), Jonathan Jackson (Avery Barkley) and Sam Palladio (Gunnar Scott), all of whom are participating in this summer's Nashville cast tour. The trek was originally scheduled to stop at Manchester's Manchester Arena for one show on Saturday; however, due to the May bombing outside of an Ariana Grande concert at the venue, following which Manchester Arena remains closed, the stop was moved to the O2 Apollo.

“From the moment the Manchester Arena attack took place, the touring cast of Nashville wanted to know what they could do to show their support of the city and its residents,” says Opry Entertainment President Steve Buchanan in a press release. “Though we were not able to play at Manchester Arena, there was never any question we were going to perform somewhere in the city, and for as many fans as possible. The two shows performed at Manchester Apollo proved once again the power of music to heal and unite.”

The 2017 Nashville cast tour launched in Birmingham, England, on June 9, and concluded on Tuesday (June 20) in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Beginning in July, the tour will resume stateside.
