For the fist 'Six Pack' of the new year we'll award a spotlight the Crimson Tide and Ray Lewis, award a drunken dad, and remember a music legend.

ALABAMA NEWS: The Crimson Tide should be in Miami at this point. The team boarded the planes at Tuscaloosa Regional Airport today at 1:30. Join 95.3 The Bear on Saturday for the BCS preview show starting at 5pm then again join us for the BCS National Championship with an airtime of 4:30pm on Monday.  ROLL TIDE!

NATIONAL NEWS: 26 year old Kenneth Rowe has already won an award for ‘Worst Father of the Year’ and we’re only 2 days into 2013! Kenneth walked into Shark’s Lounge and Liquor store in Daytona Beach, FL, asked a clerk to watch his infant, got what he needed and apparently took off, leaving the youngin' behind. To make matters worse, he return some time later, intoxicated to retrieve his baby. He then took the child into the street where he laid down and then upon seeing police arrive on scene, tried hiding in the bushes. The baby was returned to the mother and our dear knucklehead was carted off to jail!

SPORTS: After 17 years in the NFL, Baltimore Ravens’ linebacker Ray Lewis is officially retiring after the team completes their 2013 playoff run! Lewis said, “My children have made the ultimate sacrifice for their father for 17 years. I don't want to see them do that no more. I've done what I wanted to do in this business, and now it's my turn to give them something back.'' As a part-time Raven’s fan, I’ll be sad to see him go.

ENTERTAINMENT: Apparently Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie tied the knot on Christmas Day. We’re they not already married? I guess I stopped paying attention to their life some time ago.

MUSIC: ‘Tennessee Waltz’ singer Patti Page has died at age 85. Patti was one of the most successful female vocalists of the 50s selling over 100 million records.

RANDOM FACT OF THE DAY: Soldiers in every country salute with their right hand.
