Are y'all ready to get lovey-dovey? Let's celebrate Valentine's Day by sharing our songs--every couple has one, and I want to share mine with you!

When it comes to husbands, I lucked out! My husband, Will, is my best friend. He supports me and has been there for me--even in the most trying times (he literally held my hair back when I had morning sickness and was puling my guts out; if that ain't love, I don't know what is). He makes me laugh; he gets my weird sense of humor, and he always knows how to cheer me up when I am down. He's a phenomenal father, and I mean that--our daughter, Dolly, has the most caring, patient, and loving father in the world. Sorry for getting all saccharine, but I love him THAT much.

I'd say that when it comes to our "song," there are two jams that perfectly describe the way I feel about Will. The first song is from Sturgill Simpson (to whom my husband bears a striking resemblance) called "The Promise." It's actually a cover of an 80's tune by a group called When in Rome, but this is one of those cases where the cover kicks the original's butt. Check it out.

The lyrics are as follows:

If you need a friend
Don't look to a stranger
You know in the end, I'll always be there
But when you're in doubt
And when you're in danger
Take a look all around, and I'll be there
I'm sorry, but I'm just thinking of the right words to say
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be
But if you wait around a while, I'll make you fall for me
I promise, I promise you I will
When your day is through
And so is your temper
You know what to do
I'm gonna always be there
Sometimes if I shout
It's not what's intended
These words just come out
With no gripe to bear

I'm sorry, but I'm just thinking of the right words to say
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be
But if you wait around a while, I'll make you fall for me
I promise, I promise you I will

What's our other song? It's not exactly country, but that's okay! This is a song that makes me tear up every time I hear it--I always think about Will and end up ruining my mascara. It's "I Found You" by Alabama Shakes!

The lyrics to this song are:

This isn't sometimes
Yeah it's for always
If I'm gonna love you with all of my heart
And if there is no more time
This always remains
Even as the world spins itself apart

'Cause I remember them days I waited so patiently

For God to bring someone who's gonna be good to me
And then He blessed my soul

Well, I traveled a long way
(Traveled a long way)
And it took a long time
(Took a long time)
To find you
But I finally found you

I remember all them lonely days
I traveled out on my own
Then you brought me everything
You made my house a home
But if it's not the real deal then I don't know it
'Cause it sure does feel, and I think it sure does show

I remember all them days I waited so patiently
And God brought someone who's gonna be good to me
And He blessed my soul

But I traveled a long way
(Traveled a long way)
And it sure took a long time
(Took a long time)
To find you, yeah
But I sure did find you

And He blessed my soul
(Traveled a long way)
And He blessed my soul
(Took a long time)
Yes He did, yes He did
Oh yes He did, yes He did

I can't finish this post without a song for my daughter! She is the love of my life, and I honestly can't imagine spending a day without her. "God Only Knows" by The Beach Boys is my song for little Dolly.

The lyrics are:

I may not always love you
But long as there are stars above you
You never need to doubt it
I'll make you so sure about it
God only knows what I'd be without you

If you should ever leave me
Though life would still go on, believe me
The world could show nothing to me
So what good would livin' do me
God only knows what I'd be without you

God only knows what I'd be without you

If you should ever leave me
Though life would still go on, believe me
The world could show nothing to me
So what good would livin' do me
God only knows what I'd be without you

God only knows what I'd be without you
