Government Plaza was the perfect meeting place for the hundreds of runners ready to take on the Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah 5K Saturday morning.

The temperatures started off hot early but that didn't seem to hinder the attendance of those eager to take on the flat 3.1 mile course. No one there could have asked for better weather either.

As runners lined up at the start line, Terry Saban welcomed the crowd and then let Alabama strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran get the crowd hyped up with a short speech followed by his signature yell, "Yeah yeah yeah yeah!"

The funds raised through the 5K benefit the Thomas Plott Foundation, established to raise money and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis. Since its inception, the Thomas Plott Foundation has donated or pledged over $300,000 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and other charitable organizations, with the vast majority of these contributions earmarked for critical medical research.

Thanks to all who came out, ran and most importantly, helped the Thomas Plott Foundation raise money and awareness.
