Former Alabama and current New England Patriots linebacker Anfernee Jennings is returning to his hometown to give back to the community that helped him rise to stardom.

Jennings is hosting a free youth football camp for girls and boys in grades 1st thru 9th at his alma mater, Dadeville High School on July 16 from 5-8 p.m.

Jennings helped the Dadeville Tigers win two 4A regional titles and two second place finishes. The Tigers made the playoffs all four seasons of the linebacker's career, unfortunately they were ousted by UMS-Wright in the second or third round of the playoffs.

“I’m incredibly blessed to be in a situation where I can give back and help young men and women in my hometown,” said Jennings. “The Dadeville community played a vital role in my life both on and off the football field and I cherish my memories there.”

Jennings went on to sign with the Crimson Tide as a part of the 2015 recruiting class. He was considered a 4-star prospect and the No. 7 prospect in the state and the No. 11 defensive end coming out of high school.

He helped Alabama capture two national championships during his tenure with the Tide and was named First Team All-SEC in 2019. He amassed 193 tackles with 14.5 sacks and registered one defensive touchdown.

The New England Patriots drafted Jennings in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He appeared in 14 games as a rookie and tallied 20 tackles for Bill Belichick's squad. Injury robbed him of a 2021 season, he spent the entire year on injured reserve.
