The biggest party in Tuscaloosa on the 4th of July was at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater, as thousands attended the city's annual Celebration on the River. The Tuscaloosa Amphitheater has been the home of Tuscaloosa's Independence Day celebration since 2011, and this year marked the first time the event was made free to the public.

Families, students, and kids of all ages came to the party despite the rain. Torrential rainfall earlier resulted in a few changes to the festivities. PARA was forced to cancel plans for its Kids' Zone (the first time in over 30 years that children's activities have been cancelled), and the amphitheater gates opened at 7 p.m. after a 30 minute rain delay

We were able to be a part of the fun of Celebration on the River. Our station tent was set up near the amphitheater gates, and those who attended were able to stop by and register to win Moe's Bucks from Moe's Southwest Grill. We even had a cornhole game set up for the kids, and it was cool to watch them have so much fun!

Thanks to the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater, Red Mountain Entertainment, and the City of Tuscaloosa for another awesome Celebration on the River--and a special shout-out to the Exchange Club of Tuscaloosa; they handed out hundreds of miniature American flags to the crowd!
