Brunswick Stew Gone Bad

We had a family gathering this weekend in Grove Hill, Al. Food and Football EVERYWHERE. Saturday morning, my Brother-n-Law Jonathan sent me a text with a picture attached. I was pretty excited.

The text simply read: "Come on". We did. This cut of meat slow cooked in a homemade pit for 7 hours. Jonathan boiled about 7lbs of chicken and pulled it off the bone just as he pulled the Boston Butt and added it back to the broth. He added chopped onions, fresh garlic and many other 'secret ingredients'.  The stew simmered for hours.

Jonathan came inside to watch a little of the Alabama game and stayed a little to long. After many hours of hard work and probably over $100 in ingredients, He returned to find his masterpiece stew SCORCHED. Yes. it was inedible. There were tears.

The only thing that saved Saturday night was Alabama's win over LSU.
