Over the weekend, a mama possum was struck by a car and killed on the road in front of my house, but she wasn't alone. I noticed the dead animal lying motionless beside the bridge as I left out early Saturday morning. When I returned that afternoon, a flash of movement caught my eye and as I passed by, I realized it was a baby.

I ran across the street to my neighbor's house and after confirming his suspicions that I WAS crazy, talked him into helping me safely retrieve the baby from it's deceased mother. Within the hour, I'd safely deposited the infant marsupial into another neighbor's safe keeping.

Thank you, Brant Merriam and Jimmy Bain!
