Auburn fans packed out the War Eagle Supper Club on Thursday night to say goodbye to the 78-year-old landmark.

Hundreds attended the final party for one last concert and to place their bids on some of the bar’s most prized memorabilia. A Kenny Chesney signed news article about the time he played the Supper Club in 2004 went for $150, two glass ‘War Eagle’ bar lights each sold for over $550 each and an Auburn Hockey Club sign from 1980 sold for $1,050. Other items up for grabs were autographed posters and photos, beer tins, commemorative Auburn athletics signs and more.

470 tickets were sold to the closing festivities and all were gone in a matter of days.

In early 2015, owners John Brandt and Martin Kadenhead were informed that they would not be unable to renegotiate their lease on the club.

The most recent update is that Brandt said he is currently looking for a new location but may not be able to operate under the same name due to private club ordinances handed out by the city of Auburn.
