Artic air invades the Tuscaloosa, Alabama area following an unexpected winter storm with accumulating snow. The National Weather Service office in Birmingham has issued a Hard Freeze Warning for the entire listening area around West Alabama through 9am on Wednesday. The low tonight will barely be double digits as the temp dips to around 10.

It's a day we will remember for quite some time. For the thousands stuck in traffic and abandoning cars, it will be day you would like to forget. The forecast was for a few snowflakes and the possibility of dusting on grassy areas. We ended up with accumulating snow and icing roads creating travel hazards and countless accidents. A nightmare!

Unlike winter storms of the past, this snow isn't melting and the black ice on roads is a real threat overnight. Be safe.
