Alabama wide receiver Christion Jones was named a watch list member of the Paul Hornung award on Friday morning. The award is given annually to the most versatile player in college football.

A staple in the receiver rotation, last year Jones hauled in 27 passes for 368 yards and four touchdowns, highlighted by a 3 catch 74 yard performance against the Arkansas Razorbacks in week three.  However, Jones has also shown to be a threat in the return game with over 400 combined return yards, and 1 touchdown (against Ole Miss).

While used as an offensive weapon, Jones may spend some time on the defensive side of the ball in 2013. The playmaker from Minor High School took plenty of reps at cornerback through spring practice.

Other notable finalist include: Malcolm Mitchell (Georgia), Johnny Manziel (Texas A&M), Marquees Lee (Southern Cal) and D’Anthony Thomas (Oregon).
