The Alabama coaching staff got some surprising news on Sunday afternoon when one of the nation's top players picked the Crimson Tide.

Five-star linebacker Dylan Moses officially visited Tuscaloosa for the game against Kentucky and saw enough during the trip to make a decision that recruiting analysts didn't expect.

Most recruiting sites expected Moses to head to LSU. The linebacker, who was offered by Nick Saban and Les Miles in the 8th grade, is originally from Baton Rouge and was once committed to the Tigers.

Even as recently as a few weeks ago, Moses told reporters that he would narrow his list down to the top three schools after his official visits.

The commitment gives Alabama three of the top five players in the country according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Those same rankings still have the Crimson Tide behind the Ohio State Buckeyes nationally for the class of 2017. The addition of Moses also gives Saban three of the top five outside linebackers in the nation.

Alabama's class now sits at 21 total commitments.
