We all have sat around talking to our devices.

-Tell me a joke

-Tell me about the year I was born

But apparently, some things are better left unasked.

According to USA Today, there are a few things you really shouldn't ask your smart device. Here are 5 of them

1- How Do You Do CPR?

CPR is never a joking matter. When you need it or need to perform it, there is a life on the line. In about 2 hours, you could learn how to perform CPR from an accredited Red Cross instructor.

USA Today says that you’re better off not asking Siri, Google, or Alexa for any medical advice – not just lifesaving advice.

2- Where Can You Hide a Body?

Don't be an idiot. It's never smart to ask a smart speaker something that could be used against you later, such as where to buy drugs, how to steal a car, or where to hide a body. Do you even need to get advice about stuff this simple?

3- How Can I Hurt Someone?

Sure, we know you were just kidding when you asked Siri how to break your neighbor's arm, but the authorities might not see it that way.

I read something a few years ago in The Guardian about how Apple contractors working with smart speakers regularly hear confidential conversations, drug deals, and recordings of couples having sex, as part of their job providing quality control.

Is it true? I don't know and I don't want to find out the hard way.

4- Can You Connect Me to My Bank Account?

Your Alexa is capable of making this connection, but it's not worth it. Have you been paying attention? Some savvy cybercriminals could hack into your phone, steal your voice, and drain your accounts. So much for how technology would improve our lives, huh?

5- Will I Die If I Eat This?

If you have to ask, it's probably a possibility.

If you're on a hike wondering if the berries you found would make a good snack, voice assistants aren't reliable sources, and taking their advice could land you a trip to the hospital.

Coffee Grounds

Coffee grounds can accumulate like they would in a coffee filter, creating an obstruction in the pipes. Coffee grounds are best disposed of in the compost pile or the trash.

Pasta

The garbage disposal mashes the pasta and creates a thick paste that can cause your disposal to stop working or clog the drain, which prevents water from going through your disposal.

Bread and dough -- particularly those with a high gluten content -- can clog up your disposal. Experts say If you must put leftover dough in the disposal, soak it in hot water to dissolve it first.

Onion Skins

Plumbers will tell you that onion skins should be disposed of in the trash rather than your kitchen's garbage disposal because its outer layer is thin. The thin outer layer can get caught in the drain and not get ground, which eventually causes waste to pile up in your garbage disposal.

Consumer Reports warns that putting eggshells in the disposal will eventually lead to buildup and clog your drain. They simply don’t break down as well as other foods.

Celery and other fibrous or stringy scraps will either clog the drain or give your grinder grief. Avoid putting anything stringy in your garbage disposal.

Potato Peels

Potato peels have a high starch content, which can collect in the disposal. The starch in your peels also causes them to expand, further thickening a clog.

Grease

Grease down the drain is a huge no-no. Grease solidifies once it cools off and, in a few minutes, the grease solidifies in the pipes and acts as a sticky trap for gunk and debris. Over time this blockage can clog the pipes or slow the drain.

Rice

Rice expands with exposure to water. This will also happen in your drain, too. Rice also becomes a very sticky substance that catches other foods going down a garbage disposal. A little rice can cause big problems with clogging in pipes.

Hot Water

Hot Water

Hot water can cause fats to congeal. When congealed, fats and oils can stick to the blades of your disposal. You should wait to run hot water in the sink until after you have completed the grinding process.
