VIDEO: Alabama DB Levi Wallace Talks About His Path to Playing Time

Former walk-on Levi Wallace is quickly becoming a household name among Alabama fans. After earning a scholarship this season, the junior made his first career interception against Florida State to open the season.

Wallace entered the game in a reserve role, but his performance will likely lead to more playing time as the season moves along. Ask him what led to his success, he points to his teammates.

"I have great teammates that have always pushed me to do my best. So many four-star, five-star guys, you just want to compete with them and do the best. We all push each other to be the best athletes we can be and the best team at the end of the day."

If it wasn't for his late father, Wallace wouldn't have even tried to play for the Crimson Tide. After his first semester on campus, his father convinced him to give it a try and the rest is history.

"I didn't play football my freshman year. I walked on in the spring. I just wanted to see how good I was going against Amari Cooper and some of the best receivers that have come through here. It's been a great journey. Coach Saban has helped me along the way, developing me into the player I am today."

After earning a role on special teams his first year, Wallace now find himself on the cusp of a staring spot in Saban's secondary. If he continues progressing the way he has, it will be difficult to keep him off the field.
