This picture is a pretty good representation of what I looked like after reading this story.

Coronado High School Basketball Coach Peter Morales in El Paso, Texas, knew how important the game was to the team manager, Mitchell Marcus. Because he appreciated Marcus' contribution to the Thunderbirds, he instructed the mentally-challenged student to suit up during the last game.

Mitchell put on the uniform of the team he loved so much and despite his teammates numerous attempts to put the ball in his hands, he couldn't make a basket. Although Coach Morales was disappointed for Marcus, he hoped wearing the jersey would be enough.

But something amazing happened. With only seconds left in the game, Mitchell missed a pass forcing a turnover. On the inbound, Franklin High's number 22 held the ball in both hands.  Instead of finding a teammate, Jonathon Montanez called Mitchell's name and tossed him the ball. Mitchell scored and spectators flooded onto the court and raised the young man onto their shoulders.

Later when asked by CBS why he was willing to give the opposing team two points, Montanez replied, 'I was raised to treat others how you want to be treated. I just thought Mitchell deserved his chance, deserved his opportunity.'

Mitchell's mom simply replied. 'I think I'll cry about it for the rest of my life.'
