The National Weather Service has issued a TORNADO WARNING for Tuscaloosa and Hale Counties in effect until 5:15 p.m.

The text of the warning is as follows:

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Southern Tuscaloosa County in west central Alabama...
  North central Hale County in west central Alabama...

* Until 515 PM CDT.

* At 410 PM CDT, a tornado producing storm was located near Union, or
  8 miles north of Eutaw, moving northeast at 40 mph.

  HAZARD...Damaging tornado and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree
           damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
  Tuscaloosa, Northport, Holt, Moundville, Lake View, Brookwood,
  Coaling, Vance, McFarland Mall, Tuscaloosa Amphitheater, Tuscaloosa
  Regional Airport, Lake Wildwood, Mercedes Benz Of Alabama,
  Tannehill Ironworks State Park, Abernant, Shelton State Community
  College, Bryant Denny Stadium, University Mall, Deerlick Creek
  Campgrounds and North Bibb.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

To repeat, a tornado is on the ground. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a
basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy
building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in
a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect
yourself from flying debris.
