Xavier Williams

Alabama wider receiver Xavier Williams has entered the transfer portal according to Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports. Williams is not playing football in 2021 with the Crimson Tide after an undisclosed medical issue.

The Alabama Crimson Tide opened its fall football camp this past Thursday to start its 2021 campaign. The Tide has to replace two wide receivers drafted in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft but will have one less weapon to do so as Xavier Williams is not currently listed on the Alabama roster.

With John Metchie out this spring, other guys are getting an opportunity to get extra reps this spring and Javon Baker and Xavier Williams are taking full advantage.

After having a number of first-round receivers ahead of him, 2021 could be prove to be a breakout season for Xavier Williams. The Hollywood, Florida native came to Alabama as four-star wide receiver, rated as the No. 3 receiver and No. 29 player overall in the class of 2018 according to ESPN.
