After months of rumors and speculation, it looks like director Paul Feig is finally starting to assemble his cast for his ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot. The name at the top of his list should surprise no one: Melissa McCarthy, who he previously directed to an Oscar nomination and huge box office success in ‘Bridesmaids’ and ‘The Heat,' and who is in early talks to star in the film.

While most of the leaked information from the Sony hack has revealed tons (so many tons) of potential ‘Spider-Man’ franchise plans, we’ve also been blessed with some information on one of our most anticipated projects: Paul Feig’s all-female ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot. We already know that practically every funny and super talented lady wants to star in this thing, but what exactly is the plot and tone of the film? Newly uncovered e-mails shed some light on the details.

Rejoice! While we've known for a while that 'Bridesmaids' director Paul Feig would be helming the upcoming female-centric 'Ghostbusters' reboot, today we have another development: not only is Feig directing the reboot, which will definitely be a separate entity from the original 'Ghostbusters' films, but the project will re-team him with Katie Dippold, who wrote the screenplay for Feig's buddy cop comedy 'The Heat.' This is pretty much the best news since, well, the news that we're getting an all-female 'Ghostbusters' movie.

Ever since the Marvel Cinematic Universe became a huge success, there were immediate imitators trying to follow that same model. From the 'Justice League' films to 'Amazing Spider-Man' and, heck, even the upcoming 'Star Wars' movies. It all seemed a bit much, to be honest. But, this latest news might take the cake (or donut?) when it comes to biting style. Dan Aykroyd, the only one involved with the original 'Ghostbusters' who seems to want to have anything to do with the new 'Ghostbusters' says he wants to relaunch the franchise following the Marvel "shared universe" strategy.

There are a few ways you could celebrate the 30th anniversary of 'Ghostbusters'. You could watch the film again with the new 30th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray. You could sing Bobby Brown's "On Our Own" at karaoke. Or, you could gorge yourself on sweet 'Ghostbusters' inspired donuts at Krispy Kreme. (We choose the latter.)

This Labor Day weekend, for one week only, you can see the 1984 comedy classic 'Ghostbusters' on the big screen, digitally restored in all its slimy, Stay-Puft glory. And now Sony has delivered a special 30th anniversary trailer for the film, which will also be getting a special Blu-ray re-release. Hail Gozer!

The biggest problem with the concept of 'Ghostbusters 3' is the fact that 'Ghostbusters' still very much exists and is pretty much perfect. This fact will be reconfirmed when the original is re-released later this summer as part of the film's 30th anniversary celebration, which will also include a new Blu-ray release.

Yep, it's official: we're getting a 'Ghostbusters' LEGO set. Originally submitted last year as part of LEGO's Cuusoo competition (where fans design their own sets in hopes of them actually getting mass produced), the "Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary" set will include the iconic Ecto-1 vehicle and four figures representing Peter Venkman, Raymond Stantz, Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddmore. A

'Ghostbusters 3' has remained alive in fans' hearts thanks to hopeful chatter from original star Dan Aykroyd, though all the on-and-off development issues have placed this in the category of "we'll believe it when we see it." However, new reports have emerged claiming that the sequel will finally begin filming next year, perhaps even with two new stars attached.

It has been years since I have watched the movie "Ghostbusters". I have always been a fan.  Everyone knows the movie, everyone knows what to say when someone asks "Who you gonna call?"
