We published our spoiler-free review of Ghostbusters earlier this week, but there’s only so much you can discuss without touching on the fine points. Now that Ghostbusters is out in theaters everywhere, it’s time to go deeper, with ScreenCrush’s SPOILER-filled discussion of Paul Feig’s new reboot.

The first trailer for Ghostbusters offered a sizable preview of Paul Feig’s upcoming reboot, giving us a peek of the team’s proton packs in action, the new ghosts and that goofy receptionist who kind of looks like Thor. But we still haven’t seen the film’s elusive villain, played by Neil Casey — and we still don’t know much about the guy at all, really. Thankfully, recent comments from director Paul Feig and screenwriter Katie Dippold help shed some light on the reboot’s big bad, giving us a better idea of what the ladies will be up against.

There’s still quite a while to go until the July 15, 2016 release date of Paul Feig’s all-female Ghostbusters reboot, but the fires of fan anticipation must be continually stoked if they’re going to burn strong enough to last through the winter, and the wasteland of pop-cultural apathy that is the month of January...

While the following is still a rumor, you might want to turn back now if you wish to avoid potential spoilers for Paul Feig’s new Ghostbusters movie. We’ve heard for some time now that Dan Aykroyd is putting in a cameo appearance, but we weren’t sure if he’d be doing so as Ray from the original Ghostbusters, or an entirely new character. Given Feig’s plans for his new film, the former was pretty unlikely.

Since the news of an all-female 'Ghostbusters' was announced, we've all had lots of fun attempting to reverse-gender cast the film. Melissa McCarthy! Amy Poehler! Emma Stone!!
