The Atlantic Coast Conference has released its official schedule for the 2020 season. The conference will play a 10 game conference schedule, plus one non-conference game. The season is scheduled to get underway on September 12 and the conference will hold its championship game on December 12 or December 19.
This week, Clemson University Athletics announced that 23 football players and 5 other student-athletes have tested positive for COVID-19. It is unclear what sports the other athletes are involved with, but the athletic department has asked anyone who may have come in close contact with those who tested positive to quarantine for a minimum of 14 days.
On Thursday, it was announced that the formerly named “Belk Bowl” will be rebranding as the “Duke’s Mayonnaise Bowl.” The bowl game, which is played in Charlotte, North Carolina has historically featured conference tie-ins for both the ACC and the SEC but now will feature the Big Ten conference, which will swap out with the SEC every other year.
Swinney largely blamed the death of Floyd and the subsequent violence that has followed on a sinful human nature. His statements have received mixed reactions from the public.
One reaction has come from former Clemson Kanyon Tuttle. Tuttle alleges on his personal Twitter, that Coach Swinney allowed racial slurs to occur at Tigers'football practices without repercussion.
