American Christian Academy traveled across town for a clash with Holt High School on Friday under the lights.

The ACA Patriots took down the Jacksonville Golden Eagles in round two of the Alabama High School Playoffs and will continue its bid for the state championship.

After taking down the American Christian Patriots (13-1, 7-0) 34-13, the Handley Tigers (11-1, 6-0) have punched a ticket to the 4A State Championship game in Bryant-Denny Stadium next week.

Friday night, the American Christian Patriots (8-0, 6-0) dismantled the Dallas County Hornets (3-5, 3-3) 47-16. From start to finish, ACA dominated with over 330 total yards and seven total touchdowns. This eighth straight win secured ACA a third straight region title.

High school football has finally returned this season. American Christian Academy (1-0, 0-0) from Tuscaloosa played a home non-conference game against Parker (0-1, 0-0) football team from Birmingham, Friday night.

The AHSAA has worked to create an environment that will mitigate the spread of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in an effort to ensure communities can enjoy the tradition of southern high school football safely.
