Easter Sunday will bring a serious threat for long-track tornadoes and severe storms to Alabama. The National Weather Service in Birmingham has already placed all of our listening area under a Moderate Risk for Sunday's severe weather outbreak. Strong tornadoes will be possible as well as golf ball sized hail and damaging winds of up to 70 miles an hour. The latest forecast suggests storms will be possible Sunday afternoon through the evening hours.

ABC 33/40 Chief Meteorologist James Spann has shared his thoughts on Sunday's severe weather outbreak at alabamawx.com:

All modes of severe weather will be possible, including large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes. Based on the forecast dynamic and thermodynamic fields, a few strong/violent, long track tornadoes will be possible. Also, with the organized line of storms Sunday night, widespread damaging wind is very possible.
