Lady Antebellum Cancel Houston Tour Stop Due to Hurricane Harvey
Lady Antebellum's Houston, Texas, You Look Good World Tour stop has been canceled due to Hurricane Harvey. The show was scheduled to take place on Sunday night (Aug. 27) at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.
“Due to the anticipated weather event in Houston this weekend, and in the interest of fan safety, Sunday’s Lady Antebellum You Look Good World Tour stop at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman has been cancelled,” LiveNation announced in a statement (via Taste of Country). “Refunds will be made automatically at point of purchase.”
Hurricane Harvey, CNN reports, is headed for the Texas coast and expected to make landfall late Friday (Aug. 25) or early Saturday (Aug. 26). The storm is currently a Category 2 hurricane but will likely strengthen to a Category 3 hurricane by the time it hits land. As much as 35 inches of rain and "life-threatening" storm-surge flooding are expected.
"All indications from the hurricane center are that this is going to be the first major hurricane the nation has dealt with since [Hurricane Katrina in] 2005," FEMA Director Brock Long says.
Houston's KTRK-TV reports that a a Hurricane Wind Warning has been issued for the Texas coast, in the area from Port Mansfield to Sargent, while a Tropical Storm Wind Warning and a Flash Flood Watch have been issued for most of Southeast Texas. Matagorda, Galveston and Brazoria counties are under a Storm Surge Warning, while a Storm Surge Watch is in effect for Chambers and Harris counties.
Lady Antebellum began their You Look Good World Tour in late May. After they get off the road, their personal lives will get busier: Dave Haywood and his wife are expecting their second child, while Hillary Scott and her husband are expecting twins.
