The Miami Dolphins used the sixth overall pick to select wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, reuniting him with his former college quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. According to the Miami Herald, Waddle is running with the first team offense during the Dolphins voluntary workouts.

"I think he requires two players to cover him," said Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores. "When you can add that type of player can move around within an offense, that causes defenses a lot of problems. And he does that because of his speed, his quickness, his explosiveness."

In three seasons at Alabama, Waddle reeled in 106 receptions for 1,999 yards and 17 touchdowns. He averaged an incredible 44.53 yards per touchdown catch on his 17 career scores through the air at Alabama. Waddle owns three of the top-five longest scoring receptions in Alabama history.

As a sophomore in 2019, Waddle led the nation in punt return average at 24.4 yards per return. He earned first team All-American honors as a returner and was the SEC's Special Teams Player of the Year.

“I think with Jaylen [Waddle] – we’ve watched him over the years. He’s been a dynamic, explosive player even from his freshman year there," said Dolphins general manager Chris Grier. "He just flashed and you saw stuff, and I think this season demonstrated that type of player and even last season. He’s contributed there every year. He’s a very competitive kid. He loves ball. This is someone that we’ve had our eye on for the last couple years just watching him.”

The Dolphins will hold organized team activities from May 24-26, June 1-3, June 7-8 and June 10.
