A Tuscaloosa County man missing since last Thursday has been found dead in a wooded area and police do not suspect foul play.

Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa County Violent Crimes Unit, said the family of 32-year-old Brian Christian Carrol first reported him missing to the sheriff's office last week.

As the Thread previously reported, Carrol was last known to be in an area between Samathana and Echola, where his cell phone pinged a tower before he went missing Thursday.

Kennedy said deputies and investigators continued searching the area and on Monday they found Carrol dead in a wooded area.

"At this time there are no signs of foul play," Kennedy said. "We ask that the media and community respect the privacy of the victim’s family during this time."
