Lurleen B Wallace Shut Down Following Accident

Residents in West Alabama are being asked to find alternate routes as a major road has been shut down completely.

"Lurleen B Wallace Blvd is SHUT DOWN (all lanes) from McFarland to 28th Street," the Northport Police Department posted on Facebook Saturday morning.

The shutdown is due to an accident involving powerlines.

There was no timeline on when Lurleen B Wallace Blvd would be back open but the Northport Police encouraged everyone to find an alternate route this morning.
