Overtime Drama: Auburn Barely Beats Bethune-Cookman
Weeks ahead of the Iron Bowl, it's looking like Auburn has its hands full with not just football woes, but problems on the basketball court.

As the NCAA Men's Basketball season kicked off, Auburn opened its basketball season at home in Neville Arena against an unranked SWAC opponent, Bethune-Cookman University.
The Tigers did not look great in the season opener. In fact, it took going to overtime for the Tigers to defeat the Wildcats by just 5 points.
There is a lot of back and forth online about how the Tigers looked in the game. One podcast dedicated to all things Auburn said, "If you're the #20 team in the country and you're from the SEC, I don't care how good somebody shoots the basketball, you gotta be better."
I'm sure most people agree!
Bethune-Cookman fans and even some Crimson Tide fans agree that the Tigers were helped by the referees.
One comment under a post online read, "35 free throws for Auburn and 9 for BC,that blatant cheating."
The SWAC representatives Bethune-Cookman came out on time in every major stat line in the game from assists, three pointers, blocks, and shooting percentage. The only major stat line that Auburn came out on top were free throws and it's not even close.
It's safe to say the Tigers are in for a long season under new leadership and Bethune-Cookman will likely go far into the SWAC Tournament and even the NCAA tournament.
