Alabama Lands Commitment From Former Michigan Offensive Tackle in Transfer Portal
The Crimson Tide continues to add offensive line help via the transfer portal, picking up its second commitment from a former Michigan offensive lineman. According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, former Michigan offensive tackle Ty Haywood has committed to the Crimson Tide.

Haywood, a 6-foot-5, 316-pound offensive tackle from Ryan High School in Denton, Texas, entered the transfer portal on January 8. He took a visit to the Crimson Tide over the weekend and committed to Alabama on Monday.
The Ryan High School prospect was rated as a four-star offensive tackle in the Wolverines' 2025 recruiting class, ranking as the No. 42 overall prospect, the No. 10 offensive tackle, and the No. 12 player in the state of Texas. Haywood had originally committed to Alabama as a member of the Tide's 2025 recruiting class, but flipped to Michigan and signed with the Wolverines on national signing day this past February.
He appeared in two games during the regular season for Michigan, with appearances against Central Michigan on September 13 and Maryland on November 22.
Haywood marks the 11th commitment for the Crimson Tide this transfer portal cycle, and the second offensive line addition from Michigan. Here are the players currently committed to Alabama:
Josh Ford, TE (Oklahoma State)
Caleb Woodson, LB (Virginia Tech)
Kaden Strayhorn, OL (Michigan)

The transfer portal officially opened on Friday, January 2, and will remain open until January 16.
