Ryan Williams Shares Lone Goal for 2025 Season

College football watchers rejoice as broadcast crews across the country can no longer inform viewers that Ryan Williams is 17 years old.

The sophomore receiver from Saraland, Alabama, has always been shrouded in hype. From his days at the park in Saraland to scoring six touchdowns against the Hillcrest Patriots in an AHSAA playoff game to scoring the game-winning touchdown against the Georgia Bulldogs, Williams was destined for greatness on a national scale. He's been named to countless award watch lists and preseason All-American and All-SEC lists. Amidst the hype, Williams has just one personal goal for the 2025 season.

"To win a national championship," Williams said.

Not the Biletnikoff, not the Heisman Trophy, not All Conference. A national title is the only goal for 2025.

Williams needs to add no help to the hype level surrounding him. He's the cover athlete for EA Sports College Football 26, he's signed NIL deals with Nike and Beats, and he's on almost every preseason All-American list.

“I don’t feel like I have anything to prove,” Williams said during media availability on Tuesday. “I’m just going into the season trying to do what’s best for the team. I feel like whatever I do in that instance is best for us in the long haul.”

Even without the need to prove anybody right or wrong, Williams did say he's improved in one area heading into his sophomore season.

“I ain’t going to lie,” Williams said, “I’m a lot stronger than last year. Just being able to be in the weight room for a full offseason, that was honestly a blessing being able to mold my body in a way not only my self wanted to but also the university.”

Williams and Alabama will start their season on August 30 in Tallahassee, Florida, against the Florida State Seminoles.
