RACE TO NYC: Jeanty Stays Strong at Top, Gabriel Jumps Up
Halfway through October, the Heisman race is sorting out between the genuine contenders and the rest of the pack.

Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty maintains his spot at No. 1 following a 247 all-purpose yards and two total touchdowns performance against Hawaii.
Jeanty currently sits at +230 odds to win the Heisman.
The Broncos and Jeanty are on BYE this week, giving them time to prepare to solidify their grip on the Mountain West against UNLV on October 25.
Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel is second behind Jeanty, with +260 odds.
Gabriel and the Ducks picked up a signature win Saturday at Autzen Stadium against the Ohio State Buckeyes, snagging the 32-31 victory in an all-time classic.
Against the stout Buckeyes defense, Gabriel threw 341 yards and two touchdowns while adding a score with his legs.
The win over Ohio State boosted the Ducks to No. 2 in the AP Poll, the highest position the program had held since 2014, when Mark Helfrich and Marcus Mariota were running the ship.
Colorado two-way superstar Travis Hunter slipped to No. 3 following the Buffaloes' 28-31 loss to Kansas State on Saturday.
In the loss, Hunter was knocked out of the game in the second quarter after receiving a blow on the right shoulder from K-State defensive back Daniel Cobbs. Hunter exited the match with only three catches for 26 yards and one tackle. However, the WR/DB is expected to return to action next week, per Colorado head coach Deion Sanders.
Hunter currently holds +600 odds to win the Heisman.
Alabama's Jalen Milroe has fallen from No. 1 two weeks ago to No. 5 with +1400 odds to win the Heisman.
Milroe still has a chance to take home college football's most sought-after piece of hardware; however, it will likely require a couple of special performances against strong SEC foes.
