According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, Missouri quarterback Brady Cook is "doubtful" to play against the Alabama Crimson Tide this Saturday.

Alabama's spread has jumped from a 13.5-point favorite to a 17-point favorite with the news of Cook's likely absence against the Crimson Tide.

Cook suffered a lower-body injury against the Auburn Tigers in Missouri's 21-17 victory.

Cook left the game against Auburn in the first half, even leaving the stadium to get imaging on his ankle. Cook re-entered the stadium, and the game, in the second half, overcoming a double-digit fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the Auburn Tigers, 21-17.

It was also announced earlier on Wednesday that Missouri running back Nate Noel would also miss the game against Alabama with a foot injury.

Cook has started 34 straight games for Missouri, including every game in the 2022 and 2023 seasons, as well as every game so far this season.

In 2024, Cook has completed 63.1% of his passes for 1,545 yards and seven touchdowns. Cook has only thrown one interception this season.

Cook has also added 117 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns in 2024.

Drew Pyne will be the likely starter in the event Cook is unable to play. Pyne is in his third school, spending 2020, 2021, and 2022 at Notre Dame, and 2023 at Arizona State before moving to Missouri for 2024. Pyne has 206 passing yards in the 2024 season.
